All lurking Republican readers should evaluate Buchanan's take; which did not center on the timeworn "social conservative issues" like abortion, but on the American empire facing bankruptcy from a strategic military defeat in Iraq. Wait, didn't the GOP war-hawks in the audience get it? Hell, they don't get it in Jefferson County, Kansas. Why should we expect them to get it in South Carolina?
