They can call it “real estate,” but it is space on the surface of the planet, finite space, which is being gobbled up and placed under proprietary control by massive enterprises, at breakneck speed.
No resistance can survive without either outside infusions of resources or native capacity. Native capacity means production under local control.
One main goal of all ostensibly revolutionary projects within the US should be acquiring land — urban, suburban, exurban, semi-rural, and rural. The object of land acquisitions must be to take this land off the market forever. (IA emphasis)

I like this guy, a former CIA analyst who presented the daily briefs to several past presidents, both Republican and Democrat years ago in the White House. He seems to shoot in the same hole, truthfully and with a factual basis. He has made it a retirement issue to expose the "crazies in the basement" that are now running the country.
He recently put out a piece analyzing "Why Cheney went berserk over Joe Wilson's Op-ed" which I linked to earlier this week located further down the scroll. He mentions our Sen. Pat Roberts in an interesting segment in this interview about a possible cover-up. Pay close attention to it.
It is a great audio download to listen to with the inside scoop on the "Cheney Cabal" from "patriotic truthtellers" who are wacking the crap out of the Busheviks. Example, when Cheney left for Australia did Condi convince Frat Boy to talk to Iran before he left for Latin America?
I am not too sure about all the speculation going on in the media about diplomacy with Iran. The scenario on the water in the Persian Gulf is too hot, a simple misfire or a messy shipwreck could quickly turn into a bombing campaign. You listen and decide (I am still keeping several gas cans filled in my garage and stocking canned foodstuffs in my pantry.)

Angry crowds hunt Bush as protests mark start of Latin American tour | Guardian Unlimited
Chin up Repugnuts, and Blue Dog Dems in the DLC who supported the phony "War on Terror" - only another two years before the end of your political careers. Of course, why wait? Resign now. Here's what is being reported on from the streets of Brazil:
If President Bush needed a reminder of his growing unpopularity in Latin America, it was here in Sao Paulo in the shape of a 10,000-strong human wave marching noisily through the financial district.
There was none of the famed Brazilian hospitality. Even before Mr Bush arrived in Brazil on Thursday to begin a six-day tour of Latin America the protesters were out en masse. "Persona non grata" read one placard. "Get out you Nazi" said another. In case the message still hadn't hit home, there was one other taunt - this time in English: "Bush, kill yourself."
Click the title line above for much more protest news from Brazil, including the formation of student "Hunt Bush" squads driving to his hotel - compound to run him out of the country. Yeah those Busheviks - tyranny and bankruptcy at home, arrogance and militarism abroad. How can a Palestinian get to his office to educate him about their side of the issue? Fat chance, they are locked up in the largest prison in the world, an Israelis prison colony, being systematically starved and selectively killed in captivity. Kansas to be testing ground for the rice with human genes.

It worked! The Nevada Dems tried to have Fox News sponsor their debate. It failed because internet groups and Robert Greenwald's Brave New Films spread the word about how Fox News operates. They commit daily bullshit sessions trashing liberals and the Dems daily, but what they did to Obama was over the top. Watch this video and get a taste of what you missed.
We received the same smears about Obama via email from Repubs who read the Flyer several weeks ago, Repubs who don't check out their facts, but forward any piece of shit they get from their manipulators. Dave Lindorff writes of Washington Dems at This Can't Be Happening!
At issue is a bill, S8016, submitted in the state’s senate by freshman state Senator Eric Oemig, which would call on the U.S. Congress to initiate impeachment proceedings against President George Bush for high crimes and misdemeanors against the Constitution and the people of the United States and of the State of Washington. ...
The measure, which would take the form of a joint resolution by the two houses of the Washington state legislature, accords with the instructions laid out by Founder Thomas Jefferson, who, in his Manual of the Rules of the House of Representatives laid out state joint resolutions as an alternative route for initiating presidential impeachment proceedings in the House in addition to the more usual route of a member submitting a bill of impeachment.
Lindorff identifies the tinfish as: Sen. Pat Murray and Rep. Jay Inslee, [who] are undermining Jefferson’s carefully designed fail-safe system by pressuring Democratic state legislators to kill Sen. Oemig’s bill.
Read it all today at: This Can't Be Happening! Also, scroll down the site to read the formal testimony Dave sent to the legislature in support of impeachment.
Truthdig: Can Congress End the War?
Voters also appeared to be voting for accountability and possibly for the launching of impeachment hearings as well. Polls prior to the election found that a majority of Americans believed a Democratic Congress would impeach. Candidates who campaigned on the theme of accountability, including Keith Ellison, D-Minn., who promised impeachment, did well. Polls show that a majority of Americans favor impeachment or wish Bush’s presidency were over. Voters in November even booted out a couple of Republicans who had turned against the war, saying that they were voting for a Democratic majority so that the Democrats could investigate the war as well as end it—something a majority of Americans continue to say they want.

Small Wind in Kansas - and the laws to help prevent us from using it!

Kansas ranks third in the nation for potential electrical generation from wind turbines. Individuals who can afford it should be doing everything possible to learn, install and use this resource toward individual and communal energy independence.
Below from the American Wind Energy Association's "state by state" site. I would highly recommend contacting state authorities (which seem centered around the Kansas Energy Policy group) listed on the page link.
The Kansas governor and many of the state legislators seem determined to construct more coal electric generation plants, but in my opinion that is not strategic and represents a short-sighted sickness many suffer from around Topeka.
Rural communities, farmers and villagers would do far better by investing in their own electrical generation programs using a combination of available methods; solar panels and wind turbines on individual homes, larger municipal wind turbines for the towns that can get their act together and stop stabbing each other in the back.
All of these technologies will be getting more and more expensive to use as petroleum based products gets tighter and tighter on a world wide scale. Why wait?
"Through statutory authority, Kansas allows residential renewable energy facilities of up to 25 kW and commercial facilities of up to 100 kW to connect to the utility grid; however, there are currently no statewide uniform interconnection standards for these systems. All that is currently specified is that a utility may enforce any safety, equipment, or power quality requirements it deems appropriate. Utilities may also install a manual external disconnect device if the customer refuses to do so."

3000 operational multi-warhead nuclear ICBM missiles isn't enough to defend us abroad. Gut the country of our armed forces for defense of our borders and launch pre-emptive wars for oil. What a crock of wasteful shit these people are shoveling to us.
A recent hushed fact heard from the confusing blitz of congressional hearings: 40% of all operational vehicles, tanks etc. have been stationed [and ruined] in Iraq. That is worldwide, including all those hundreds of bases abroad that we pay for - 737 according to Chalmers Johnson's book "The Sorrows of Empire."
It would take one short month to withdraw all our military forces from Iraq and these shills are dragging their feet, sucking cash - grinning at us like the taxpaying fools we are - every goddamn village in this country should be going "energy independent" and learning to live good with less. Instead the rotten bastards in DC are stalling and foot dragging - waiting for the Big Push - an aerial bombardment of Iran, which will push the country economically over the edge and cause all kinds of "emergency" measures to be called on us to "sacrifice" for their phony "war."
Give them toys, watch them break, buy them more - spoiled brats!
United States Senator Pat Roberts : Press Room
Below the most recent available press release from Sen. Robert's own web site - and a telling one, as stale and ill-kept as it is, concerning what critics have called his "heavy lifting" for the Bush administration. The massive lies perpetrated on the American public and the Democrat's charged with oversight (cowardly at best during the pre-Iraq invasion) is finally coming to light, but Sen. Robert's rather than put the blame squarely on Bush and his own shoulders - feed us more scapegoating.
It is well known that the Bush regime classifies more documents as "secret" and thus prevents only an extremely select few in congress to examine them - all under the phony "War on Terror" Homeland Security bullshit. The buckets of blood being thrown on the fire to stop the war, confuse the American public (as was so expertly done in the run-up to invasion) stains only those politicians who supported this damn criminal fiasco upon the taxpayers. We are all complicit and those "leaders" the bull shit "war leaders" should be put in dockets, tried and punished for this 460 billion dollar boondoggle for the "military industrial complex" - let alone the now anticipated 660 billion dollar '08 FY military budget coming down the pipeline.

Chairman Roberts Comments on Democrat Additional Views to Phase II Report
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts, Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, made the following comments concerning Democrat additional views on the release of two of the Committee’s “Phase II” reports on prewar intelligence about Iraq:
“The additional views of the Committee's Democrats are little more than a rehashing of the same unfounded allegations they've used for over three years,” Roberts said. “They echoed the same themes in their additional views in the Committee’s 2004 report. Their effort represents a misuse of the Intelligence Committee by careful cherry-picking through the intelligence and the facts in a political attempt to rewrite history.
“The long known fact is that the prewar intelligence was wrong. That flawed intelligence was used by policymakers, both in the administration and in Congress, as one of numerous justifications to go to war in Iraq. The same intelligence was collectively believed and used, leading to the same assertive public statements regarding the threat posed by Saddam Hussein.
If you wallowed through all that crap in brown above then what do you think he is saying? How about "we got fooled by Bush/Cheney so you got fooled, too." And he wants us to keep him and his gang leaders in the GOP in DC - just how big a fool does he take us as being? Pretty big.

BUSH GAVE US WAR - NOW GIVE HIM HELL FOR IT.
By
The purpose of this old-fashioned newspaper crusade to stop the war is not to make George W. Bush look like the dumbest president ever. People have done dumber things. What were they thinking when they bought into the Bay of Pigs fiasco? How dumb was the Egypt-Suez war? How massively stupid was the entire war in Vietnam? Even at that, the challenge with this misbegotten adventure is that we simply cannot let it continue.
It is not a matter of whether we will lose or we are losing. We have lost. Gen. John P. Abizaid, until recently the senior commander in the Middle East, insists that the answer to our problems there is not military. "You have to internationalize the problem. You have to attack it diplomatically, geo-strategically," he said. His assessment is supported by Gen. George W. Casey Jr., the departing senior American commander in Iraq, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who only recommend releasing forces with a clear definition of the goals for the additional troops.
Bush's call for a "surge" or "escalation" also goes against the Iraq Study Group.
Talk is that the White House has planned to do anything but what the group suggested after months of investigation and proposals based on much broader strategic implications.
About the only politician out there besides Bush actively calling for a surge is Sen. John McCain. In a recent opinion piece, he wrote: "The presence of additional coalition forces would allow the Iraqi government to do what it cannot accomplish today on its own — impose its rule throughout the country. . . . By surging troops and bringing security to Baghdad and other areas, we will give the Iraqis the best possible chance to succeed."
But with all due respect to the senator from Arizona, that ship has long since sailed.
A surge is not acceptable to the people in this country — we have voted overwhelmingly against this war in polls (about 80 percent of the public is against escalation, and a recent Military Times poll shows only 38 percent of active military want more troops sent) and at the polls.
We know this is wrong. The people understand, the people have the right to make this decision, and the people have the obligation to make sure our will is implemented.
Congress must work for the people in the resolution of this fiasco.
Ted Kennedy's proposal to control the money and tighten oversight is a welcome first step.
And if Republicans want to continue to rubber-stamp this administration's idiotic "plans" and go against the will of the people, they should be thrown out as soon as possible, to join their recent colleagues.
Anyone who wants to talk knowledgably about our Iraq misadventure should pick up Rajiv Chandrasekaran's "Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone." It's like reading a horror novel. You just want to put your face down and moan: How could we have let this happen? How could we have been so stupid?
As The Washington Post's review notes, Chandrasekaran's book "methodically documents the baffling ineptitude that dominated U.S. attempts to influence Iraq's fiendish politics, rebuild the electrical grid, privatize the economy, run the oil industry, recruit expert staff or instill a modicum of normalcy to the lives of Iraqis."
We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war. Raise hell. Think of something to make the ridiculous look ridiculous. Make our troops know we're for them and trying to get them out of there. Hit the streets to protest Bush's proposed surge. . . . We need people in the streets, banging pots and pans and demanding, "Stop it, now!"

Today was an interesting news day - James Kopp was sentenced to another life sentence for the brutal murder of a womens' doctor who performed abortions in New York.
Most media neglect reporting that the doctor was shot in the family's kitchen in front of his family. Most media neglects to report the full extent of how much very real terror swept through this country. Why, you may ask? Because most of the terrorists were/are fanatical right-wingers, Christian, flag waving patriots and white - a combination where, as in the civil rights struggle, most law enforcement authorities have deep sympathies and share core beliefs. Only the best peace officers prosecuted these terrorists. Never forget this fact when reading this post and the post below it.
The dominant media today also neglects the incredible "paper wars" that raged between local FBI field offices and the national DC bureaucracy and the politics field agents had to buck to pursue the arsonists, bombers and murderers involved against abortion.
Even today, as reports of more prosecutions are pursued after the racist death squads dominated the people of the South during the sixties - an untold story of "pro-life" fundamentalist Christians terrorizing women, doctors and nurses who performed abortions has yet to be told.
In Kansas with an outgoing Attorney General that hired an arrested and convicted clinic blockader on the state's payroll, and allowed at least one convicted clinic bomber to work in his recent failed re-election bid.
Someday we may read of people fellow Kansans - in similar situations as below.
From Wickipedia: "It is possible that the killing of Slepian was not Kopp's only crime. The FBI notes "(t)he shooting was similar to shootings in Rochester, New York, and three Canadian cities during the fall of 1997, in which abortion doctors were shot in their homes."[2] Kopp has been charged by Canadian authorities in the 1995 shooting of Ontario doctor Hugh Short, one of a string of Remembrance Day shootings (see [3]).
Kopp is currently serving in Niagara County Jail in Lockport, New York.[4][5] Kopp will spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement, locked up 23 hours a day in the nation's most secure prison if he insists on a trial and is convicted. If he pleads guilty, he will be sentenced to a medium-security federal prison.[6]"
