What we will know: 

The cost to Kansas taxpayers for former Attorney General Phill Kline's revolving door of lawyers to defend his ragged law license.


The cost to Kansas taxpayers for Kline's "investigations" against Dr. George Tiller, Planned Parenthood and other reproductive health care providers.

What we now know:

Kansas taxpayers through the offices and staff of current Attorney General Derek Smith paid $644,000 to outside law firms to defend the state's anti-abortion laws. (AP wire story.)

A quibble to KSBHA:

• KSBHA Expert Witness from Georgetown U., Dr. Liza Gold charges a total of $46,839.91; first on Sept. 19 - $35,789.93 which includes air fare, then on Nov. 7, 2011 - $11,049.98 for food.
• Dr. Gold (see transcript) she does not treat pregnant women, as forensic psychiatrist, or can imagine a pregnancy warranting an abortion.  Has malnourishment influenced her judgement?
• How can Dr. Michael B. First, after reading Gold’s transcription politely enumerate the “misstatements of fact” in the expensive testimony?  Dr. First wrote the book that Dr. Gold and tens of thousands use to diagnose patients across North America.  He didn’t charge Kansas taxpayers one dime.

Administrative Judge Ed Gaschler charged $4,445.00, threw out all legal arguments defending Neuhaus, claimed she endangered her patients’ lives for the lack of a cover letter and a signature, then rules out her only witness, K. Allen Greiner, M.D. (cost $2,564.05).

The total cost to discredit and defame Ann K. Neuhaus, M.D. including the KSBHA expert witness Dr. Liza Gold ($75,030.91) is listed as $92,672,44.

All this from a filed complaint initiated by a convicted clinic bomber and known associate of Dr. Tiller’s killer, Scott Roeder.
