Are we supposed to assume this is all one big coincidence? The truth is, a little known but politically powerful "conservative" organization is has been quietly flexing it muscles for years. Meet ALEC....The American Legislative Exchange Council.
ALEC has played an extraordinary role in crafting legislation.  A report titled "ALEC: Ghostwriting the Law for Corporate America" it was pointed out that "Behind the scenes at ALEC, the nuts and bolts of lobbying and crafting legislation is done by l[the] large corporate defense firm Shook, Hardy & Bacon." This "law firm with strong ties to the tobacco and pharmaceutical industries, ... has long used ALEC's ability to get a wide swath of state laws enacted to further the interests of its corporate clients." shaping pro-corporate legislation.   ..."
