Commentary: "If Kobach wins in Kansas, brace for a trainwreck" @ Bellingham Record

Picked up from the the Kansas City Star, it merits attention nationwide:

[Excerpt]
... Kansas secretary of state candidate Chris Biggs sounded casual this week when he thanked an audience for attending a debate at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City.

“I was here in 2002,” he said, “when I debated Phill Kline.”

The reference wasn’t really so off-hand. Biggs has much to gain by reminding Kansans that eight years ago he was the last man standing in front of a runaway train commandeered by a politician intent on using a state office to carry out an ideological agenda....

[End of Excerpt] The train wreck roaring toward Election Day will be in a tunnel the Kansas conservatives of both parties have been driving. Ineffective opportunistic leadership, largely driven by a sensationalist talk radio media agenda, Kansans are about to be thrown into the darkness as the explosion roars through the tunnel.

Privatized public schools, corporate climate change deniers running millions of tons of out-of-state coal into the ovens at Holcomb, a "bio-science corridor" wide-open to germ warfare attacks and last, but not least, a growing infant mortality rate and deeper oppression as the ranks of the poor grow and go deeper into anger and despair.

Kansans would be better to learn from the striking workers of France, engage in mass shutdowns and push back. "Brace for a train wreck ... " yeah, right.
