Nicholas Riccardi: "Suspect in Kansas abortion doctor's slaying reportedly belonged to anti-government militia" - LA Times

I believe Tiller would still be alive if the law was seen to be fair as applied to his case. Two charges against him that should have been brought were dropped and the evidence of the second doctor's confirmation procedure was not fully litigated. A natural assumption is that Tiller had the law on his side not because of justice but because of his influence.

If the law is seen to be fair then even if people don't like the outcome they feel justice has been done. It is a common occurrence that people take the law into their own hands when they perceive the justice and law enforcement system to be ineffective.

I think Scott Roedder should be fed to Lions. Lions are hungry animals, they need to eat. The law used to say 'Feed Christians to the Lions.' All these newfangled ideas these days should be stomped out firmly and decisively. We wouldn't have to spend all this time arguing about abortions if the religous folk were fed to the lions. Who knows it might even cause people to value life more strongly. I say we return to fundamental values, and better nutrition for Lions.
