Across Globe, Empty Bellies Bring Rising Anger - New York Times

Oh how mighty Kansas has fallen, once proud "bread basket to the world" now a grower of feed for factory meat livestock, ethanol for the gas tanks and fructose corn syrup as an unhealthy additive to factory foods. Shame, shame on us! Our selfish drive for "agribusiness" is now killing people around the world. It's not the America I remember, now we fight like cats and dogs to teach our grade school children that global warming is a hoax, evolution is just a "theory" and safe family planning is "baby killing." What a gigantic wasting of our good peoples' good works. Shame, shame on Kansas! No amount of bombs and mindless Chamber of Commercy boosterism will hide this tragedy. Read it and think about what others are doing to survive - Across Globe, Empty Bellies Bring Rising Anger

The hunger news is horrifying. Part of the reason we are only aware of it in stores is because Bush took food and energy out of the Consumer Price Index, may his lying soul rot in Hell.

Corn is not for fuel. It is not for corn syrup in job lots. The Mexicans are facing hideous tortilla prices because the corn is being used for fuel that is NOT very green instead of for food.
