The stakes are enormous

“As when Ronald Reagan dedicates the space shuttle Columbia's 1982 journey to the freedom fighters of Afghanistan, with the sounds of 2001: A Space Odyssey playing on the soundtrack and the recent memory of Columbia's eventual crash playing in our frontal lobes. Two decades later, and in Reagan's lifetime, the space shuttle and the land of those freedom fighters would both go up in flames.”

“Gunsmoke and Mirrors” Susan Gerhard, San Francisco Bay Guardian,
Art and Entertainment review of BBC “The Power of Nightmares Part II”

"’The stakes are enormous. This is all about whether our government can take us to war on lies without any fear of being held to account, and whether our democracy can survive the coalition of fascist forces that have seized control of the levers of power.’"

Letter by former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson

A big shot in Washington used the word. He is not the first now days to use it.

Wilson called them “fascist forces” in referring to the Bush regime. Are you ready to join some partisan unit? Many Kansans I know do not know what the word "fascist" means.

If you don’t know who Joseph Wilson is by now, then you really need to come up for air and take a look at any favorite news source to find out how far the leaders in our government have taken this fight. Any U. S. citizen today should be acquainted with him and the numerous figures and issues surrounding the Wilson family, which have dramatically affected hundreds of thousands of lives on a daily basis in this country.

The ambassador who served twenty years, under constitutional obligations as a career diplomat married to a woman who worked as an operative and analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency under a non – official cover (NOC) have been placed in what Wilson has called a 27-month “vortex.”

Wilson, named by the first President Bush, “a true American hero” for his sheltering of over 100 people in the Baghdad U. S. Embassy during the run – up to Gulf War One and his last exchange with Saddam Hussein before military actions in Kuwait took place has been effectively destroyed, along with his wife, as federally employed wage – earners for their young twins.

Funny, President George Bush’s father was responsible for the law that was supposed to protect CIA agents’ identities to the public.

Wilson is not a “communist, liberal sympathizer,” as the conservative talking heads in the main$tream media seems to label anyone who opposes their deceptive wars for the big energy companies.

The storm of controversy swirling around this couple’s career problems finally came to surface in a court document, in the form of an indictment served on Vice President Richard Cheney’s number #1 man, Irwin “Scooter” Libby.

Are people beginning to think about what is going on?

Is it possible that even you sitting at the monitor somewhere will soon face personal hardship in your health, family and communities because of our shared complicity in U. S. imperialism.

Yes, your life is about to be mightily influenced – many people today put on their pod ear buds; slap on their UV sun blinders and go about their SUV 10/mpg distracted lives, oblivious to what President Bush called “background noise” when referring to the investigations that are probing and exposing “high crimes and misdemeanors” committed in his offices. Various critics of the Busheviks have stated that any attempts by political foes to nail the administration are doomed because of the lock down the Republicans have on both houses of Congress, and soon quite possibly the judiciary.

Would this be why Wilson uses the term “fascist forces” when describing them in his letter to Pitts cited above?

A former senior Reagan administration official, Paul Craig Roberts, who has since called for a mass petition drive to impeach Bush, most recently with an internet campaign to sign on millions of users to “embarrass” the government is an attempt to vitalize the badly damaged image of America with the world. Does this mean that getting an impeachment before Congress is pointless?

All those who want a radical change probably ought not to counsel the angry dissenters of all political persuasions toward ineffectual exercises in change and risk their own credibility. Who really should seek to spend their precious days ahead in dollars or endless letters to the editors?

Getting my electronic signature on a demand for impeachment is really a small effort, which anyone should support, but the real machines of change are going to be a lot tougher to grease, oil and start up. It is going to be more about survival and community against political and economic forces too big to do much about.

In this particular case, I think after the economic calamities descend upon us, the whole nation will be in a bunker mentality as mentioned below. I recommend a book I just finished describing some positive steps each of us can take to get ready.

Things I will describe in future installments.

“ Welcome to the bunker mentality, courtesy of George W. Bush and the folks who brought you the catastrophic invasion of Iraq, the escape and continued freedom of Osama bin Laden, the annihilation of faith in the business community by way of Enron, the annihilation of any sense of personal security by way of Katrina, the annihilation of our standing on the international stage, the big lie about weapons of mass destruction, and an awful lot of dead American soldiers. They used September 11 against you to get these things, or to get away with these things, depending on the need at hand. The result is a proud, great nation on its knees.”

Golden Oldie - by Readers' Request

First posted August 12, 2005

AN OPEN LETTER TO PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS,
ONE OF SEVERAL FORMER REAGAN ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS WHO IS NOW CALLING FOR THE IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT BUSH.

To my Republican Relatives:

I was raised in a small town called LeRoy, Kansas during the sixties and couldn’t wait to get away from it into the big bad world of demonstration politics, draft dodging and cultural revolution.

I stole Karl Marx and a multi – volume account of Trotsky’s life from the high school library because it hadn’t been checked out, according to the slip card, since 1963 – nobody was reading these books in LeRoy, Ks.

My parents were Republican, both voting for Nixon each time he ran for the presidency.  I hated what they were doing at the time supporting anything Nixon said or did.  I refused one Thanksgiving Day to say the meal prayer and was slapped out of my chair for it.  Every evening the grainy black and white television screen would broadcast Walter Cronkite with a board tallying war deaths like football scores, it made me sick, angry and convinced nobody understood me in LeRoy, Ks.

Since that horrible time I have “mellowed” and grown to appreciate in a deep way some of the things my father taught me about the Republican outlook of the “I like Ike” era.  He many years later after over a decade of not communicating with him apologized for the holiday slapping – and said he too had grown to resent the perpetual wars of this “empire.”

You wrote in your most recent and excellent post at Counterpunch:

“Conservatives and Republicans used to be people who thought it was America's business to avoid wars and to govern well at home. It was Democrats who involved us in wars--World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam all started under Democratic presidents.
Governing well at home meant being suspicious of government power, not giving government carte blanche with Orwellian legislation called ‘the Patriot Act.’ I can remember when conservatives and Republicans would have gone berserk if Democrats had identified patriotism with the police state legislation called ‘the Patriot Act.’”   - WHY IS CHENEY LOBBYING FOR A BOOST IN CHINA’S NUCLEAR CAPABILITY?

Mr. Roberts, I have read almost every essay you have posted on Counterpunch over the last several months and have come to understand that my own extended family members have become delusional, disjointed and drunk with this “new” form of fascistic “Republican.”

Now I understand and have softened much of my emotional distrust of Nixon.  He did get us out of Vietnam and he started the E.P.A. and ensured a minimum wage for hundreds of millions of low – wage people.  I still think he was a bit of a rat about dirty political tricks, but nothing compared to this regime.

I was taught that sectarian religion had no place in the government; instead government was to protect all religions from each other.  I was taught that privacy in the home and the bedroom were matters of those that live in the home and sleep in those bedrooms.  I was taught that the First Amendment insured this freedom.  I was taught that so long as the dissent was peaceable – it was not only permissible but necessary to guarantee a check on unbridled totalitarianism.  I have learned those lessons in blood and sweat since growing older, and I have come to the conclusion that my beloved relatives in my extended family are no longer capable of practicing or understanding their own “lessons.”

I love them more now than before, but cannot understand how they have allowed this rabid evangelical Christian, imperialist monster of the Republican Party to betray them.

They no longer believe in the privacy of the free individual in a republican government.

I married over twenty years ago a woman physician, who decided in the early nineties to start performing abortions, one of less than a half dozen in this state to do so, and both of us were quickly thrown into the sordid and dirty politics of the “new Republicans” in this state.  I was forced, contrary to my own pacifistic leanings, to legally arm myself and to develop an intelligence network (at great personal expense) to determine threat assessments against my family.  The people surrounding the clinics I soon found myself protecting, for the most part were mainly religiously hysterical people who were more mentally ill than homicidal, yet no one in this position could negate the nefarious and lethal activities of many of their cohorts around the country.

And not one of my relatives even fathomed, understood or counseled me in this debacle.  Support was furtive at best.  My step – father was the only one who repeatedly said he supported my wife’s decision to perform abortions – the rest were silent.

The only counsel I received was from an uncle who confidently assured me that Bush Two was not going to outlaw abortion during the Gore – Bush election and that the best thing I could do was vote for the moron.  I registered as an Independent and will never take on registration in any political party for the rest of my life on the surface of this planet.

My only conclusion to this is that they equate criticism of a Republican politician to treasonous activity and have thrown their most important lessons as Ike taught them of the “military industrial complex” to the BBQ pit in their backyards.

They have let this moronic monster of a political machine to fester and grow and my only hope is that they listen and read of more authors like you, criticize the hell out of their local party leaders and get the profiteers and zealots out now!   At least, you remind them of what they used to stand for.

Sincerely,
Michael Caddell

Ps. To all my beloved relatives receiving this transmit.  I apologize if I have offended you but it had to be said by someone in our family.  My immediate family has been battered, dislocated and practically destroyed by your political hypocrisies. You didn’t like communist regimes in the fifties and sixties now you support and profit from Wal – Mart destroying our village small businesses, importing their Chinese junk upon us, selling nukes to them and hold our whole country hostage to Big Energy, Big Oil and Big Agriculture.  Get mad, get mad as hell, but don’t blame me anymore for this mess.

Just like Iraq it’s your mess, now clean it up – and get the morons running your party OUT!

Mr. Roberts articles are at: http://www.counterpunch.org/roberts08112005.html they are archived also elsewhere at this web site, look for them on your own, I am not going to spoon feed them to you.  You wouldn’t respect my hand holding anyhow.

Golden Oldie! Readers' Request.

From “Podunk News from Bush Country” 1st Weekend, August, 2005 to the general readership email list of the FCF!

FELLOW PODUNKS, DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
"We're determined to go into the entire world if we have to and do everything that we can in our power."
- Tony Sawyer, U.S.D. 501 Topeka Public School Superintendent, commenting on the recent group hiring of schoolteachers from India.  Claims Kansas teachers are unavailable for teaching certain subjects. -
“Run the public schools like businesses, if they don’t make money fold them up.”  So goes the common refrain from most legislators on both sides of the aisles, Republican or Democratic, lawmakers boil the most complex of issues down to easy to understand sound bites for us simple-minded idiots living on the ground in Kansas.  Dumb us down; then our kids, cut funding and feed us to the corporate hogs.

Cheap is good.
As if, tax abatements to Wally’s World and other big box chain stores don’t kill the rural villages, fool us into buying everything imported that is cheap – now our teachers must make lower and lower wages.  Cheap is good.  Jobs that we hear from Bush and his ilk, “nobody wants” are seldom described as “so low wage nobody wants to work for it.”  And just like the CEOs across the country from Enron, Westar and Halliburton the politicians never tell us what their protected patrons are making in big – time salaries and posh office perks.

Cheaper must be better.
When will our elected politicians at every level of government; including the local school boards get some guts and cut the most obvious of gougers.

School systems across the state some with administrators’ salaries easily over $150,000 already stretched with funding issues take a new look at solutions with an “international flare” according to our self – described “news leader” WIBW - TV.   Republican majorities in both chambers of the state legislature attempt to cut overall funding while legislating Christian morality takes the front seat.  The dirty side of “free market” economics comes home to roost with this story at: http://tinyurl.com/bqtpn
And look at the paltry salaries shelled out to basic teachers in the same school district.  You will need to click the document marked “Certified Appts” on the list, rat bastards prevent me from giving exact location, so go there click and look at: http://tinyurl.com/8npn3 , full time minimum wage hourly workers in this state are not treated much better.  See, cheap is good.

THE CHEAPEST MUST BE BEST!
BIG KANSAS NEWS MEDIA – BIG HOGS FEEDING FAT
The local news media, no stranger to top down “bottom line” managerial style: http://tinyurl.com/9ynpo constantly pumps profitability as the rule.  Local news media conglomerates have home pages (in Georgia) and brag, “Gray Television, Inc. currently operates 16 CBS-affiliated television stations, eight NBC-affiliated television stations, seven ABC-affiliated television stations and five daily newspapers.”  This monster corporation owns WIBW - TV.
ONE, TWO, THREE WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR?
THE LARGEST NEWS MARKETS IN KANSAS ARE MORE AKIN TO “VERTICAL” HOG OPERATIONS; POLLUTING, SPREADING OUR FEARLESS LEADERS IDEAS AND CHICKEN LITTLE CONSUMERISM.
Who owns the largest daily newspaper in Kansas City?  The second largest publisher of papers in the country, that’s who! Who owns the largest newspaper in Topeka, the wide ass seat of our state government?
Throw in a few of the oldest radio stations in the state; a few more country weekly newspapers, and what do you get?    A corporation that owns the state’s capital daily newspaper:  http://tinyurl.com/cgfgn the bigger AM radio stations in the state broadcasting rabid right – wing talk shows: http://tinyurl.com/buz4j

What are the Bakers up to in Washington DC?  That is Mr. and Mrs. Howard Baker, the former members of our lofty U. S. In a Pig's Eye

Listening to the Trees Turning

WHO COULD KNOW that a high-ranking and deeply connected official with the last three presidents of this country would talk like “Larry” Wilkerson? This person is getting pretty serious about warning people about the crisis afoot in government. If you take the time to listen to the linked speech he made and compare it to the press coverage received; it stands out like a red leafed sumac tree in a forest of evergreens just before fall weather.

Be a “fly on the wall” and listen in on them talking before Limbaugh mangles it.

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson addressed a New America Foundation “brown bag” lunch crowd October 19, 2005 and carpet bombed the federal government with “daisy cutters” shredding “the cabal” with embarrassing disclosures and discrepancies on who or what is running the Pentagon’s lunatic asylum. He slams neo – conservative Douglas Feith as one of the stupidest men he had ever met which will make Wilkerson real popular with the nervous White House crowd of lying warmongers some who will most likely be indicted this week.

Wilkerson, the former chief of staff for then Secretary of State Colin Powell before, during and after the Iraq War, described the advisers around George Bush as a “cabal” including Vice President Richard Cheney as determined to go to the war out of “business interests.” Pay special attention to his preliminary remarks commenting on American history. He also repeatedly recommended during his opening prepared remarks George Packer’s book The Assassins' Gate to the crowd assembled which included reporters and commentators from newspapers and beltway think tanks. Press accounts of the Wilkerson speech and the eye – opening answers to questions at the end was touched on, but still spotty on the quotes.

LEFT MEDIA IS SHINING around Scott Ritter's new book Iraq Confidential and Goodman’s recent interview with him on Democracy Now burns brightly with a revealing inside account of weapon inspections leading up to the Iraq War!

Did you know that during Wilkerson’s speech mentioned above that he referred to last week’s Frontline on PBS which made a good case that the abuse and torture of prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan was not only common place, but easily tracked as a policy coming directly from above – throughout the Bush Administration. If you missed the program, good news, you can watch the complete program online at the link embedded above.

FAREED ZAKARIA who writes and produces the PBS news magazine, Foreign Exchange had two energy policy analysts from large companies discussing the price of oil and gasoline as it spirals upward. Investment banker Fadel Gheit from Oppenheimer & Co. stupidly described possible future international oil market prices as “higher highs and higher lows” which means Gheit had absolutely no care to communicate with the unwashed working people watching this show. He works for corporate pigs helping corporate pigs and icily sat in his chair with a zombie like trance throughout the interview.

Zakaria is a great editor and presents an important show for the consuming brains of the distracted and delusional American audiences, but more spice is needed – like Matthew Simmons who recently warned of $160 – 190 per barrel prices during this winter, and wrote the only book Twilight in the Desert to honestly describe the cooked projections of reserve oil books and geological data from the sea flooded oil wells in Saudi Arabia – where Peak Oil may later prove to have already started it’s worldwide decline. Of course, Simmons is a Texas based energy investment banker and an American, who might not fit in the format for the program, which endeavors to present international viewpoints for an American television herd that speaks gutturally of “foreigners” and belches hatred of the United Nations with every opportunity.

BEFORE HURRICANE KATRINA AND RITA Simmons squeezed in something from an August 24th, 2005 interview on CNN: Lou Dobbs Tonight take it or leave it:

DOBBS: Bottom line, is the United States, in your
judgment, prepared for the oil shock that you foresee so clearly?

SIMMONS: No. I don't think the U.S. is. I don't
think the world is.
I think we have blissfully just assumed the Middle East
had effectively boundless amount of oil, it could be produced at almost -- at
the lowest achievable cost as long as there was stability in the Middle
East.

DOBBS: What should we do?

SIMMONS: We need to start preparing for the fact
that in all likelihood oil supply is reaching sustainable peak supply on a
global basis and start radically preparing a different economy that is less oil
intensive in its use, because we're not going to have any more.

Note that Simmons did not mean that oil is running out, the Dobb’s interview lasted no more than five minutes, and Simmons was running out of time. He has numerous times pointed out that the consumer prices were going to be so high for products that most people will not be able to afford them.

Do you think that many international energy investors are going to tell the general audiences that the crisis is already taking place? Even a sidebar on the Foreign Exchange program cited that companies had made over $7 trillion dollars in the last 30 years and that profits have been booming for the last years for OPEC. “Little people” paying rollercoaster prices with “higher lows” means mass misery for everything from fertilizer, food transportation, plastic production and medicine – in short nearly everything consumed in today’s modern world. “Post – modern” is going to have a totally new meaning in a few years.

Zakaria established quite a reputation immediately prior to the 911 disaster with his writing and editing of the international editions of Newsweek magazine. His essay, The Politics of Rage: Why Do They Hate Us? Recommended by the Boston Globe as “the most important” short piece to be read by every American. He did get some things dead on in that from Wilkerson’s point of view in his essay:

“Now we get to Israel. It is obviously one of the central and most charged
problems in the region. But it is a problem to which we cannot offer the Arab
world support for its solution--the extinction of the state. We cannot in any
way weaken our commitment to the existence and health of Israel. Similarly, we
cannot abandon our policy of containing Saddam Hussein. He is building weapons
of mass destruction.

However, we should not pursue mistaken policies simply out of spite.
Our policy toward Saddam is broken. We have no inspectors in Iraq, the sanctions
are--for whatever reason--starving Iraqis and he continues to build chemical and
biological weapons. There is a way to reorient our policy to focus our pressure
on Saddam and not his people, contain him militarily but not harm common Iraqis
economically. Colin Powell has been trying to do this; he should be given leeway
to try again. In time we will have to address the broader question of what to do
about Saddam, a question that, unfortunately, does not have an easy answer.
(Occupying Iraq, even if we could do it, does not seem a good idea in this
climate.)”

Well Fareed, like most of us, have little influence when it comes to cowboy corporate cronyism. Perhaps he could have tried to present another side to the oil story, from the “little peoples’” point of view – like say another PBS show did lately. Like say, maybe FRONTLINE/WORLD . Colombia - The Pipeline War – it’s “foreign” too!

HOW FAR WE HAVE TRAVELED ON THIS FAMILIAR ROAD?

“THE HORROR, THE HORROR …”

“Killing one of the men with a rifle round fired into the back of his head, they
doused the other with petrol and set him alight. Barefoot children, yelping in
delight, piled straw on to the screaming man's body to stoke the flames.”

The under – covered and barely mentioned story of an ambush, the killing and burning alive of four private contractors in Iraq last month right under the eyes and guns of U. S. soldiers makes one wonder just how deep can the Pentagon bury other important news stories in Baghdad’s Green Zone? Last year a similar incident drove armed forces there to surround and lay siege to a place called Fallujah and air bomb with napalm, invade with armored tank columns and sniper shoot civilian ambulances carrying wounded.

WHEN THERE IS NO WAR TIME
ATTORNEY – CLIENT
CONFIDENTIALITY; WE’RE GIVEN A JUDGE WHO WILL CLAIM IT WITH THE WHITE HOUSE!

A GATEKEEPER of every paper President Bush has looked at since Texas who decided if any criminal association would exist in the wild and secretive world of Cheney’s Big Energy machinations is to claim attorney – client confidentiality during confirmation hearings. Her positions have gained ‘excellent’ accolades from Pat Robertson’s anti - choice ACLJ machine.

KANSAS SENATOR SAM BROWNBACK – has been making an early presidential trial trip to Iowa and then immediately on to New Hampshire again, leading the Republican pack for presidential ambitions. His ‘blind ambition’ has got him scrutinized several times by critics who charge that his deep and murky ties to right wing fascists make him dangerous.

STUDY GUIDE OUTLINE (PANDEMIC)

EDITOR’S NOTE
Here is a revised and updated edition of the Blue Barn Study Guide Outline #1 PANDEMIC that was so well received by so many on the general list of internet readers of the FCF. The study guide was originally broadcast as a Sept. 27, 2005 email transmit to our 800 plus readers and was consequently forwarded to still others, who in turn sent inquiries back to our address. Authoritative sources, both historical and scientific, are cited and linked at the end of each short description and recent additional readings since our first transmit are included at the end of the scroll.

My original clue to delve into this subject occurred when I discovered from news sources that President Bush had in early August taken a short list of books to read during his interminable vacations to his Crawford, Texas ranch. One of the books listed was on the subject of the Great Flu Pandemic of 1918. I wondered at that time what motivated a man who had acknowledged in public to rarely reading newspapers, let alone books. What were his advisers telling him? Since that time a recent press conference held by President Bush on the White House lawn where he answered a question pertaining to ‘bird flu’ revealed his thinking of the use of the military and mass quarantines of unnamed regions of the country.

The pandemic had been spreading for 120 days across Pennsylvania and the world. “The passage of the ‘Spanish Lady’ through the streets of Philadelphia left in its wake 12,191 reported deaths and 47,094 reported cases in four weeks and a business community crippled by revenue-losses in the millions.”

Widespread news coverage of sometime contradictory reports of H5N1 found in birds in Turkey and Romania has surfaced recently. Precautionary reports on testing fowl have led to large mass killing of flocks and trade bans on any byproducts (feathers, etc.) across national borders. European news sources have made contradictory statements to news media in the last few days of this post As to whether this particular virus strain is H5N1 or another variant. A pretty extensive list of recent articles listed to the right on the site may be of interest to those researching the daily updates.

FCF CULTURAL EDITOR

FCF CULTURAL EDITOR
CHIDES BOSS OVER ANIMATIONS
TREE GODDESS BOPS BACK!

LATE NIGHT CAVORTINGS after an unsuccessful attempt at fine-tuning the feed gripper wheels on the Blue Barn’s printing press resulted in the near blindness of the FCF Cultural Editor, Wm. “The Blade” Theobold. Prior to the injury he had engaged in chastising the publisher for overuse of “uncool” animations on the FCF web log. Later in the evening, while camping near the goat shed he also insulted the Goddess of Oak Trees by claiming that a bottle of Old Crow was meaner than “any f**king oak tree.” She responded by releasing said tree branch he was pulling at and by his own hand poked said left eyelid and damn near his naked eye ball pictured above.

IN CONSEQUENCE, the following morning while parading his bloody nose and eyelid around – it was decided that “Cyclops” might be a more appropriate name for the cultural editor. The press ran better for it, and the oak tree flourished from the pruning. The wily publisher continued posting animations on the net.

And she is correct because the mainstream media isn’t about to stoke the coals on the bonfire burning near the Busheviks goat shed at the White House. The domesticated animals in the White House “press corps” have been herded around so much that even an Irish lassie had to teach the graduates from the Corporate School(s) of Journalism on how to go about an interview and not slap our fearless smirking leader in the face. Note that while Huffington praises some above in the MSM, bloggers win hands down on the “full story.”

BLUE BARN STUDY GUIDE
DELIVERS THE NEWS!

“WE TOLD YOU SO,” with the Blue Barn’s “Pandemic Study Outline” three weeks ago and look at how the news story has bloomed all over the place. The critical source of that study guide cited was the same Michael Osterholm who made the presentation at the Wilson Center in DC linked at the end of the report. Now he is sounding the alarm that it is too late for drugs to be manufactured and instead gigantic (Maoist Chinese) mass mobilizations are needed. Therefore it will not happen among the tens of millions of rugged cowboy Americans. When the bird flu comes, many rugged individualists will die on the roads in their monster vehicles transporting televisions, pets and relatives, in that order, out of clogged and jammed interstate highways from the sprawling suburban centers. Mass mobilizations can’t compete with “Reality Television

It is not too late to learn the history of this coming pandemic and learn some of the remedies posted (buried) within the links. Email us and we will re – transmit it to you in all haste. We will be posting a revised copy of it on the FCF web log this weekend.

Look for another study guide outline from the Blue Barn in Kansas on the hotly debated subject of “Peak Oil” this week. A cheap copy of the award-winning documentary, “THE END OF SUBURBIA” has been circulating among us for weeks, get your copy and start learning about it as it happens.

Neocons want more wars

Neocons want more war - Blair on Iran warpath again
Blair suspects Iran role in Iraq attacks
by Henk Ruyssenaars, Senior Editor, Foreign Press Foundation
FPF-Europe

October 6th, 2005 - One of the worst sewers of neocon war propaganda "The Associated Press" today again spreads this mental manure: "October 6, 2005 - Prime Minister Tony Blair said Thursday that new explosive devices used against coalition forces in Iraq ''lead us either to Iranian elements or to Hezbollah.'' While stressing that Britain ''cannot be sure'' about Iran's possible role, the prime minister linked the issue to the diplomatic confrontation between Tehran and Western nations over Iran's nuclear program.[FPF: Does Blair mean his own and the US neocons, the idiotic Italian leaders, the dirty Dutch 'christian killers' and other war criminals like Israel as well, in his following remark?]

''There is no justification for Iran or any other country interfering in Iraq,'' Blair said during a news conference with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. ''Neither will be subject to any intimidation in raising the necessary and live issues to do with the nuclear weapons obligations under the (International) Atomic Energy Agency treaty.''

On Wednesday, Press Association reported that a senior government official said Britain believed Iran's Revolutionary Guard supplied explosives technology* to insurgents in Iraq that was used to kill eight British soldiers over the summer. [end quote - IHT]AND AS USUAL: NO PROOF WHATSOEVER IS GIVEN BY THOSE LIARS. NOR IS IT ASKED BY THE MENTAL MEDIA MINIONS WHICH - VIA THE NEOCON MEDIA - MAKE MORE MORONS. *

Concerning the planting of bombs, the failed UK/Israeli 'False Flag' operation in Basra proved enough: ''Curiously, B.B.C. World Radio reports initially identified the car the SAS drove as being: "full of explosives and bomb making equipment." - responsible for terrorisme are the US, the British and the Israelis, helped by morons from Italy, Holland etc.

Many times they plant the bombs and then blame the people fighting the illegal occupation for it: - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/7aqr8T

he rest of the disinformation and blatant lies by this disgusting warmonger and global criminal ''Phony Tony Blair the Liar'' is to be found in the IHT, which has become another ''Jerusalem Post of Europe'', after a fiendly takeover by the worst neocon rag in the United States, the rotten New York Times'; advocating crimes by their ilk in the 'Banking Establishment in London' - [http://tinyurl.com/2xz35 ]

- also via the by them owned 'International Herald tribune' (IHT) - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/cffem

Iran has been under tight control for years, Israel never: nor has Israel ever signed the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) - [http://tinyurl.com/bfekz] - like many other countries did.

How well inspected and controlled the nuclear capabilities of Iran for years have been, and at present still are, is confirmed by Melissa Fleming, Head of the IAEA Information Dept. in Vienna.

Asked by the FPF about the number of inspections on the ground, done by the IAEA's inspectors of many nationalities in Iran, she wrote: "Please find the inspection statistics below:''Terror: European Union & US neocons against Iran''by Henk RuyssenaarsFirst published 02.09.2005 - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/7t3gn

Tomorrow (3-9-05) the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will - concerning Iran - report the figures below. The question of course is: with Iran under daily control, who are the criminals within the European Union advocating more war, and who profits* from it?FPF - August 2nd - 2005 - All people involved in the worsening European Union and it's belligerent US policy towards Iran, all those 'EU-neocons' do know that the US and the United Nation's 'nuclear watchdog' - the IAEA - daily control nuclear developments in Iran.

All those EU 'politicians' do know that day and night - and on a 24/7 basis - at least 6 (six) American Keyhole satellites control Iran. Since decades and permanently!* How well inspected and controlled the nuclear capabilities of Iran for years have been, and at present still are, is confirmed by Melissa Fleming, Head of the IAEA Information Dept. in Vienna.

Asked three weeks ago by the FPF about the number of inspections on the ground, done by the IAEA's inspectors of many nationalities in Iran, she wrote: "Please find the inspection statistics below: FOR YOUR INFORMATION, ON TRAVEL / INSPECTION STATISTICS FOR IRAN: Calendar days in the field spent on inspections and complementary access (excluding related travel time): ~125 days in 2003* - and: ~150 days in 2004. Total number of trips to Iran by Dept. of SG: ~ 50 in 2003 and also ~ 50 in 2004 Some of these trips were related to the monitoring of the suspension." - [end quote IAEA] T

HE QUESTION EVERYBODY SHOULD ASK - AND ESPECIALLY THE COLLABORATING MEDIA PEOPLE - IS THE FOLLOWING: WHY AGAIN ACCEPT THE PACK OF LIES THEY'RE SHOVING DOWN OUR THROATS? But they just go on, contrary to all known facts. And - according to Blair's propaganda channel in England, the BBC: ''European Union foreign ministers HAVE WARNED IRAN they will refer it to the UN Security Council, unless it RETURNS TO TALKS on its nuclear program. - [Which the neocons actually have done; to have one more excuse to start another illegal war.] - The totally unreliable EU 'external relations commissioner' Benita Ferrero-Waldner said ''Iran should not underestimate European resolve."

Nearly all the European Union is in neocon banking hands, with ALL of the EU trade bossed over (since the 'Banking Establishment' put him there; he's not elected) - by Peter Mandelsohn, one the many jewish advisers of the belligerant British 'government.'"European resolve" is an euphemism for the neocon's banking influence, their pressures, bribes and threats - which are accepted and supported by Europe's foremost criminal traitors; the mentally deranged 'Quislings' like Blair and his advisers*, bad Berlusconi (It), or the disgusting dutch 'killing christians' like most of the dutch people misled by PM Balkenende* in the by the Banking Establishment 'run' The Netherlands; an Israeli colony which they are 'bleeding'. Balkenende - and his spineless neocon government - only has a 19% support according to the latest polls, and, being a war criminal like many in his abusing position, should have been jailed years ago. But, that's awaiting them... as soon as Justice can be done.

A word they can't even spell anymore. CONCLUSION

The conclusion one can draw is easy: all those who are in favor of referrement to Barbarian Bolton's UN, or propose and/or support sanctions against Iran knowing about the present control, are malignant US neocon stooges; war profiteers which names must be chalked up for coming War Crime Tribunals - Url.: http://tinyurl.com/7pe57 Iran - years ago - HAS SIGNED the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) concerning the spreading of nukes; but the Israeli neocons - with the Pentagon the worst terrorists on earth - NEVER HAVE SIGNED.

In a veiled threat it was said that ''Referral to the UN Security Council could eventually lead to sanctions against Iran." What sanctions do, and how many millions that inhuman way can be killed, it was shown last time the US/UN neocons did it: Former Tjech communist and later US/Israeli Secr. of State Madeleine Korbel a.k.a. Albright, in her comment on HALF A MILLION dead children in Iraq said: "WE THINK IT'S WORTH IT" - ON CBS 60' MINUTES - URL.: HTTP://TINYURL.COM/2VMC8 After the meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Wales, the infamous war criminal and 'Banking Establishment' member, the nefarious neocon UK Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, said they would 'take matters one step at a time'. They would wait for tomorrow's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report, before deciding whether to go to the Security Council, Straw said. Concerning the planned illegal* war with Iraq the despicable Straw said the same. Lying as usual like Bush and Blair, which the 'London Memos' proved. [ http://tinyurl.com/83lko] - This 'British Himmler' knows about all the IAEA controls but keeps lying. He and his perverted ilk must go to jail too, awaiting trial, accused of crimes against humanity.

NO EVIDENCE WAS FOUND The US neocon terminators last month criticized an independent investigation because it did not make the case to go to war: NO EVIDENCE WAS FOUND that Iran was working on a secret nuclear weapons program. The report - quoted by the BBC - said traces of bomb-grade uranium in Iran's nuclear facilities came from contaminated Pakistani equipment, not Iranian activities - backing up Tehran's position. The reality concerning the US neocon's and EU lies as published by the FPF last August 16, 2005: 'United Nation's figures show: US Controls Iran Permanently' - Url.: http://www.countercurrents.org/us-henk160805.htm

THE QUESTION REMAINS: THEY KNOW ALL THIS TOO, AND STILL THEY AND THEIR MEDIA KEEP LYING... WHY ARE ALL THOSE KILLING CRIMINALS NOT IN JAIL YET? THEY HAVE TO BE STOPPED!

Lawn Fight at the White House?

A MEDIA THAT IS HAPPY TO HEAR THE MASTER'S VOICE.
ONE LIGHT BULB AT A TIME!

The partisan uproar over his nomination of Harriet Miers which more resembles a hen fight while the barnyard burns overlooks some of the more interesting aspects of the cozy dysfunctional relationship Bush maintains with his “inner circle.” Corporate “news” media, being another curse, like religion, upon the laboring classes seeking information to survive on, does have among the dregs of talking heads and blow - dried hair brains a display of some rare moments of clarity.

Usually it is hard to find, but in this case some old-fashioned beat reporter work into photojournalism laid out an interesting timeline on a certain photograph “filed” and how it “moved” into the safe obscurity of the terminal 24-hour loop back in August, 2001.

Corporate copyright laws prevent me from publishing the illuminating Associated Press photograph so follow the links to get a gander at it and the short follow – up to its questionable history. Yet, what would it matter that all the clueless involved in his “inner circle” passed an insignificant paper overlooked by a potential new Supreme Court justice? Even if that insignificant paper led to the slaughter of several thousand people a few weeks later, then a dishonest “war” for oil reserves costing hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives, what would that matter?

Who cares how right wing an unmarried, childless nominee to the Supreme Court is while the barnyard has lost all of the “eggs in the basket?” As I reported yesterday that Pat Robertson’s anti - choice ACLJ machine gave an “excellent” rating for her, even while the nutcase dominated of their movement are, according to National Public Radio opposing Harriet’s rise to power.

Confused yet? Join the rest of the flock.

- DISASTER NEWS -
LAYOFFS IN AN ENERGY CRISIS, THE BIRD FLU PANDEMIC
THE REDNECKS ARE RUNNING ON ONE CYLINDER AT 10MPG.
Mayor Ray “Get Off Your Asses” Nagin of New Orleans announced a phased lay – off of at least 3000 city workers this morning and apparently all the workers can do is walk off the job largely homeless, unpaid to the nearest open big box chain store..

Of course getting there might be a small problem since according to several industry analysts gasoline may reach $10 per gallon by December and natural gas will be at least 54% higher as the dead of winter sets in on America. Secretary of Interior Gail Norton reported that many of the antiquated one hundred steel rigs in the Gulf of Mexico were damaged and billions will be required to repair them. More Big Energy welfare checks to be cut soon?

Meanwhile at the little lawn fight at the White House yesterday the timid press hounds did manage to squeeze an answer and thereby a rare glimpse into his fearless mindset. Strange that the question yesterday about the "Avian Flu" was the first time anyone heard from his smirking countenance in public on the deadly subject. It did offer a rare look into his thoughts; mass quarantines, U. S. military invasions into America and a complete shutdown of any mass transportation. Meanwhile U. N. officials admit they aren’t sure what will happen, but it’s going to happen after Canada does something about it. At least someone cares.

SMIRKING, SCREAMING and SINKING FAST!

BY
MICHAEL CADDELL
FIGHTIN’ COCK FLYER, NORTH JEFFERSON COUNTY, KANSAS,
United States of Amnesia

MAYBE, to bastardize Sen. Hillary Clinton’s book title “It Takes A Village” (insult intended) it will take a worldwide pandemic of “bird flu” and $10.00 per gallon gasoline in Kansas by December to shut down this damn Bush/Republican Jugger – Mart.

Lord knows Hillary and her fat cat Democrats have not done a single damn thing to stop the mad plunge toward national chaos and misery. A paltry handful of Democrats have decided to attempt to impeach him and hundreds seem to have fled the September 24th anti – war demonstration.

Joshua Frank wrote of this recently when he called them out for “fleeing Washington.” And during the demonstration where Ralph Nader’s appropriately titled recent piece that slammed the Democrats with all manner of accurate punches into their soft lobbyist bought bellies.
Alexander Cockburn and Jeffery St. Clair wrote of the "Ooze" the Dems ignored that Nader addressed:: “Nader pointed out that Rep Lynn Woolsey's ‘homeward bound’ resolution to begin the immediate withdrawal of US troops is cosponsored by two Republicans, Walter Jones of North Carolina and Ron Paul, whose Texas constituency stretches south west of Austin down to the Rio Grande.”

Yet while this national betrayal was going on a man who had given his all since well before the last “election” wrote:

An hour into the march, I had to drop out for a bit- I sat down on the street, and through misty eyes, I beheld the throngs, heard the thunderous clamor, and I could do nothing else but bury my face in my hands, and cry.

Yes- call me a pussy - a weak, liberal pansy - but I wept like a baby.

First, I wept in shameful mourning, at the thousands who have died in pursuit of a war that never should have been - a war that has claimed so many innocent lives, in pursuit of profit, greed, hubris, and an abominable neoconservative ideology that is willing to squander the precious blood of our fellow man, for a sick dream of empire.

Then, I opened my eyes, and cried anew, but this time, the tears were borne of joy, and hope.As I raised my head, a child, no more than seven or eight years old passed by, looked at me, and gave me the peace sign, with a smile that broke the clouds above with a ray of sunshine, which I will carry with me, to my dying day.

The tears departed- I got back to my feet, re-joined the march, and for the first time, in so many years, I felt pride. I looked to the right, and saw a battalion of decorated veterans. I looked to the left, and saw a group of college students from Colorado - looking about me, I saw the young, the old, the black, the white, the Asian, and the Hispanic - and then, my vision blurred...And suddenly- we were all Americans.

Loud, angry, and proud Americans. Here we all were - the good, the better, and the best, patriots all, determined to make our voices heard. It was a beautiful day - a day in which the true conscience of the long-dormant majority took to the streets, and reclaimed our dignity, as a people, and a nation.”

And this man is a total artist of flash media and should be supported while he rebuilds his web site.

“BREASTS NOT BOMBS!”
“ARREST BUSH, ARREST BUSH!”
And yet the following day at the gates of the White House. One would never learn of such from the talking heads that Sunday on the talk shows and like so many who fought in the Iraq war who said that great day, “nothing seems to be working.” But it did.

Even the callers into Rush “lint brained, lard – butted” Limbaugh’s are coming at him for not criticizing the Bush administration from a conservatives point of view! And all Rush can do is crybaby the criticism and threaten his co – dependent junked out audience with his “retirement.” Good riddance and f**k you for screwing up so many of my fellow Kansans brains over the last ten years. If ever there was such an opportunistic war pig of the last century such are the likes of the fat cheerleader from Overland Park.

And the holiest of holies of news magazines “60 Minutes” Andy Rooney (no liberal by any measure of the word) slams the Bush war with the facts and finishes off with another Republican president's immortal words. It makes me want to get on the phone to all my Republican relatives (and friends) to scream, “just how much more do you want before dropping your support for the Moron – in - Command? And can you get off your selfish asses and on the bandwagon to IMPEACH THIS BASTARD?”

I loved it so much the piece played on a continuous loop on my media viewer for a half an hour.
When conservatives like Paul Craig Roberts, a former Reagan administration economic official and Gen. William E. Odom (retired), a second term N. S. A. Reagan chieftain talks against Bush’s imperialism some of my Republican friends should listen.

If anything most everyone I know out here in Kansas have stepped along in the dance and supported more militarist adventures in the world.

But something is developing and from quarters where many would least expect it.

THE MUTINY IS SPREADING!
Insiders at the West Wing are telling reporters that life there is similar to life in a “hellhole.”
Could working there be as bad as all that? Considering the MSM mentality of most producers it is doubtful.

“It’s like working in an insane asylum,” says one White House aide. “People walk around like they’re in a trance. We’re the dance band on the Titanic, playing out our last songs to people who know the ship is sinking and none of us are going to make it.”
Doug's "The Rant" had it right, but nobody listened because it was too horrible to think that Bush as an untreated drug addict was cracking up in the White House.

An astounding 63 per cent of Americans in a recent Newsweek poll have expressed disapproval of Bush’s leadership in Iraq and yet many seem determined to plod along through the next three years of the regime. Yet other warnings are on the horizon! Check back for further posts.

The Invisible Opposition to Empire, Zionism & Democrats

From Lynndie England to Shaq

Democrats Sink Deeper into the Ooze

By ALEXANDER COCKBURN
and JEFFREY ST. CLAIR

Away to prison for three years goes Lynndie England, her pleas for mercy ignored by the military judge in Fort Hood, Texas. So who are the penalized thus far to indicate America's revulsion over the systematic use of torture by its own forces? It tots up to a handful of rednecks.

Scot-free go those who inherited a secret system of torture that goes back decades and who ensured that its relentless and widening application would soon bring the practice to light. The framers of the policy go free. The lawyers who gave torture its new garb of legality plump themselves down in richly endowed chairs at our most esteemed law schools or are rewarded with seats on the Supreme Court. The senior military officers, who ordered the use of dogs, isolation cells smeared with filth, water-boards and other techniques designed to drive their captives mad, have escaped all sanction, except for the eloquent reproofs of Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba. The lumpen intellectuals, like Jonathan Alter and Alan Dershowitz, who clamored for torture need fear no indictment or downtime on the cable networks.

If there was a real party of opposition, maybe those who mandated the new torture system would face some sanction. If Democratic Party leaders had made an issue of it, some fiber would have been given to the calls for punitive sanction of the engineers and administrators of the torture systems. But top Democrats were silent. Torture was not an issue in the Kerry campaign. And the grunts were abandoned as surely as Kerry abandoned the rednecks of Appalachia and the working poor across America.

OVER 900 DEAD AND GROWING

THE NUMBER OF BODIES STILL GROWS

Here is one of the more interesting articles also detailing the gross incompetence and mismanagement of the disasters down South.  And while little is being reported in the MSM about damage to natural gas pipelines and refineries on the Gulf coast this sickening report spills out from all places Los Angeles:

The Wise Old Lady from Austin does it again!

Baghdad on the Bayou
    By Molly Ivins

Wednesday 28 September 2005

Austin - The Big Whew blew over Texas, leaving Port Arthur underwater and whole lot of stress across the state. It is highly stressful to be in a car with two adults, three children, the dog and the cat for a 12-to-20 hour trip from Houston to Austin, Dallas or San Antonio. It is also stressful to have two adults, three children, their dog and their cat move into your 1,200-square-foot house with you, especially if your sister-in-law thinks anyone who criticizes George W. Bush is a tool of Satan.

Stress-sensitive groups like Alcoholics Anonymous were doing land-office business in Texas this weekend, while bartenders served up the KatrinaRita. Austin, of course, was also having a music festival and offering free yoga and aromatherapy sessions to hurricane refugees. Austin musicians have adopted New Orleans musicians en masse: You're practically no one if you haven't got a Neville in your guest room.

The refugees trade tales of heroism and generosity, along with reports of the bad and the ugly. That's human nature, but there's nothing forgivable about organized government corruption.

I'm sorry, there are no exceptions: The first commandment of governing is Thou Shalt Not Steal the People's Money. Ronald Reagan came into office in 1980 on the mantra that he would rid the nation of Waste, Fraud and Abuse. He proceeded to raise the national deficit by $2 trillion with tax cuts and spending on the military in the face of a collapsing Soviet Union. This led to the peppy military procurement scandals of the late'80s and early'90s - the $435 hammer and the $640 toilet seat.

When Newt Gingrich and Co. took power in 1994, they promised many "reforms" and spent millions of dollars on hearings and investigations - the endless prosecution of Henry Cisneros may actually be a stronger case in point than the impeachment of Bill Clinton. Despite these splendid efforts, they never could find the Waste, Fraud and Abuse they claimed were the hallmarks of government. But this Bush administration has given us Waste, Fraud and Abuse galore.

The waste of money in Iraq is already into the billions, and the lack of accountability is fed by a Republican Congress that refuses to seriously investigate anything done by the Republican administration. The sums being overtly wasted are already staggering, and because there is no accountability, we can expect that situation not only to continue, but deteriorate.
