SOME CRITICS CLAIM "MUCHO BIG HUSH MONEY"
(NEWS CENTRAL BLUE BARN, JEFFERSON COUNTY, KS) The estimated $40 million housing construction boom exploding at Ft. Riley and nearby Junction City, Kansas is directly linked to the efforts of our Kansas Senator Pat Roberts. The frenzied construction will be for housing of the estimated 9,000 additional military service members and family dependents that are relocating here over the next three years. U. S. army personnel at the 152-year-old military base (“Army Post”) accounted for around $874 million dollars last year and the economic impact of an additional possible 30,000 people into the area is a veritable economic flood of money for the area.
According to Robert’s Washington DC office the funds for the building construction is but a part of even larger package to come to Kansas.
“The $25 million will be in addition to the $47 million in guaranteed assistance Kansas will already receive from USDA’s Rural Development Agency. The additional $25 million will be dedicated solely to housing the military and civilian employees and their families who will be coming to Fort Riley. That totals a record $72 million for rural housing projects in Kansas. “ To read more go to: http://tinyurl.com/7pnv6

Our heroes can recreate at: http://tinyurl.com/7jgxz where Gulf War One veterans “Timmy” McVeigh and “Terry” Nichols assembled their 2,500 pound bomb to blow up the Murrah Federal Building in OKC a few years after coming home from “over there” way back when. No amount of mental health counseling will help those two crazy bastards now for their PTSD.

So what does this all have to do with our Sen. Roberts?
AND why do we owe him a big “Thank You” for pumping all this military political pork our way?
Well first he is a native son of Kansas, so we’re glad he still comes home every now and then, unlike our old friend Sen. Bob Dole.
According to his biographical notes: “Born in Topeka April 20, 1936, Senator Roberts is the son of the late Wes Roberts, Chairman of the Republican National Committee under President Dwight Eisenhower. His great-grandfather, J.W. Roberts, founded the Oskaloosa Independent, the state's second oldest newspaper.” The Oskaloosa Independent is one of the big south county news weeklies I read regularly here in North Jefferson County. This guy can’t be that bad, or so oily to be that bad, can he?
Senator Pat is also the chairman of the very powerful Senate Select Intelligence Committee, privy to the nation’s most important secrets and “oversight” for the most powerful intelligence groups in the world. There has been quite a bit of stink going on about just what “oversight” his committee is engaged in, some say scandalous whitewash and stonewalling in relation to the Bush adminstration’s now well documented series of lies used to dupe most of the people in America to the War in Iraq. Sen. Roberts has had some heat for his work, or lack thereof, just after the three point Bush re - election victory. See the scoop we published not too long ago at: http://tinyurl.com/dp868 and bear in mind that while Roberts may have powder puffed the blood-soaked lies of the Bush regime as “flawed” (an understatement of criminal magnitude) that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take the money and run in Kansas.
Read what fell into Sen. Pat Roberts Washington DC mailbox last week:
“Nothing could be more important for the American people than to have an accurate picture of the events that led to the decision to bring the United States into war in Iraq. The Senate Intelligence Committee has an obligation to present to the American people the factual basis of that process.” - from last weekend’s letter by former Ambassador Joseph Wilson to Sen. Pat Roberts (R – KS), Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

I’m getting all lathered up and ready to grease down in nervous anticipation of getting in on some of the slop at the trough. Oink! Oink!
