Herman will most likely go for hanging us from the lamposts!

I note that for general information the railroad companies left town and pulled up the tracks twenty or so years ago, but the berms and beds where the tracks were once are still quite visible. One part of the track goes through the back yard of Margaret Rathert's home and has been a source of contention with Honorable Mayor Ackmann, who wanted to annex that part of her property for the village baseball park. Mrs. Rathert had objected to the acquisition so Mayor Herman dipped into his bucket of mean - spirits and had one of his cops drive on the old railroad track bed and photograph her old truck sitting in the back yard without a Kansas license plate. He then had her prosecuted in village court for a "trash citation."

He didn't tie Mrs. Margaret Rathert, a widow, to the railroad tracks or whip her with his lash, but merely put him on his enemies list for continual harassment.

Meanwhile Barry from France reports this on the news wire!

What's going on in Nortonville?

Folks in Nortonville were upset when Mayor Ackmann evicted Little Nel and her sick old mother from their house on Main street.

Little Nel, an attractive young woman, said that Herman Ackmann, the mayor, had offered to let them stay in their home if she would willingly have sex with him. Nel, a virtuous girl, correctly refused the offer.

The next thing she knew, she was being tied to a railroad track by the incumbent mayor. Little Nell pleaded with him to untie her, but he refused.

Luckily for her, the Lone Ranger and Tonto came along just in time to free her from her dire fate.

This is not the first time that the mayor has had problems with the good people of Nortonville. Herman Ackmann, aka Simon Legree, is famous for running poor folks out of town. He also encourages greasy landlords, of which he is one, to rob the working young people of the town.

Even small businesses have been run out of town if they don't jump when Ackmann cracks his whip.

A local activist referred to Ackermann and his cronies as a bunch of "mean stupid corrupt liars in our local government!" You can't help wondering, will he be the next one to be tied to the railroad tracks!?

As regular visitor to the quaint village of Nortonville, I am getting tired of continuously hearing all the bitching and moaning from the masses. If there are that many of you that hate him and his cronies then finally do something about it and vote him out of office.
Or better yet round up a posse, tar and feather him and send him packing.

Work on your spelling, but you are correct. I am tired of hearing them bitch and not get active, after all, we are living in fascist country where village democracy is about all that is left for people to participate in! I am afraid it will be sometime before the opposition wises up and unites.

Fer instance, Pete Scott and Dave Schneider are running for the mayor's position, which could divide the ticket to the point that it splits the ticket. And there is no run off election, so not even a simple majority will carry the day and get rid of the Tyrant Ackmann.

Some tightwads passed a village law a while back abolishing the primary, since it would cost money.

Tightwads all - I suppose that is why they don't have any day care in the village, and are losing their young people as fast as they can afford to move out of town.

As you've likely heard by now, the Agency is mounting a surge particularly directed at the Nortonville Security Council (NVSC) members (minus FCF of course) for insights as to how to membership is reacting to the on-going debate RE: April elections, plans to vote on any related resolutions, what related policies/ negotiating positions they may be considering, alliances/ dependencies, etc - the whole gamut of information that could give neoconpolicymakers an edge in obtaining results favorable to our goals or to head off surprises." According to Michael Hammer, the sleuth who 'found' some files in the backstreet office of an unnamed mayor, (Herman?) - this picture* was on top of the Nortonville file under the heading: Opponents.
