A Letter to the Editor That Wichita Newspapers Missed

April 15, 2014

Dear Editor:

In the interest of expediency and cost savings, I think we should turn our state, county, and local governing bodies over to the Kochs. Doing so would allow us to cancel expensive elections and eliminate voter fraud as an issue.

Under my plan, the Kochs could flip a coin to determine which one would become governor and which lieutenant governor, or they could appoint people who share their libertarian views to these positions. They could appoint their like-minded friends and family to the legislature and to all other governing bodies around the state.

They could then turn public schools into private, money-making institutions for their owners. Public services would be privatized and people would pay only if they used them. For example, an individual would pay fire fighters if his house caught fire. We each would pay a fee to check out a library book.

There would be no public employee unions and workers would have no say in their pay or working conditions.

My plan would serve all Kansans well. We would not be bothered with researching issues or determining who the best candidates are. Who wants to take time out of their busy day to vote anyway?
