George Kenney: "A Hermeneutic and an Erotic Philology (of Brigitte Bardot)" @ Electric Politics

Dear Michael,

In something of the spirit of Valentine's Day I thought it would be fun to talk with Dr. Andy Martin, author of Waiting for Bardot (Faber and Faber, 1996), about his book, which is probably going to be made into a movie, and about Brigitte Bardot and what she's meant to people. Andy teaches French at the University of Cambridge and is a notable author who's written on many subjects. Indeed, his dissertation, turned into The Knowledge of Ignorance: From Genesis to Jules Verne (Cambridge University Press, 1985), so impressed Edward Said that Said brought Andy to Columbia for a year. And at one point Andy was the surfing correspondent for the Times of London. So a very varied career! He's smart, amusing raconteur -- I hope you enjoy the podcast.

Thanks for listening!

Best,

g.
